Prior to joining the faculty at ATSU\, she practiced as a full-time athletic trainer at Boston University where she served as the Female Athlete and Pelvic Health specialist on staff. Rachel has a combined total of nearly 20 years of clinical experience in the college/university setting throughout the country. Her area of contemporary clinical expertise is non-orthopedic conditions with an emphasis in female health and pelvic health concerns in athletes. Rachel has a particular interest in normalizing compassionate healthcare conversations surrounding pelvic health across all patients. \n\n\n\nRachel originally hails from South Carolina where she earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Athletic Training from Erskine College in Due West\, SC\, and a Master’s degree in Human Resource Development from Clemson University while also serving as a graduate assistant athletic trainer for the women’s rowing team. She earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2011 at Creighton University. \n\n\n\nSara has undergone advanced training in pelvic floor dysfunction\, pelvic and breast oncology\, and principles of Applied Functional Science in treating the pelvic floor. Prior to becoming a PT\, she was born and raised in Las Vegas\, NV and went to pursue her passion as a competitive tennis player and played for Gonzaga University. From 2014-2017\, she worked in Denver\, CO\, working in sports medicine\, developing a passion for treating patients with hip and labral pathology as well as recognizing the link between the hip and pelvic floor. Carrie then pursued her passion for pelvic health and began specializing in treating this population. She returned to Phoenix and Spooner PT in 2017\, and since then has achieved a Pelvic Rehab Certification\, and is now an instructor with Herman and Wallace Pelvic Rehab Institute. Carrie believes in treating the whole person and considering all aspects of the patient’s health to most effectively help them return to optimal function. Her biggest passion is linking orthopedic rehab with pelvic rehab\, helping both men\, women and children. \n\n\n\nIn her spare time\, she enjoys hiking\, running\, golf and tennis\, yoga\, cooking with her husband\, and spending time with her new baby girl. \n\n\n\n\n\nBagels and Coffee Provided by A.T.
