SUMMARY:Ground Up QB Camp Athlete Screens
DESCRIPTION:During the Ground Up QB Camp athletes will take part in an athlete screen. We want to make sure you know to expect: \n\n\n\nWhat is the athlete screen: \n\n\n\n\nThe athlete screen involves a series of tests (9 stations) designed to assess an athlete’s movement\, mechanics\, and range of motion\, from head to toe. Our goal is to help the athlete identify areas of opportunity for improved mobility\, flexibility\, strength\, and performance.\n\n\n\n\nWhat we need pre-screen: \n\n\n\n\nFor any athlete under the age of 18 we need a parent/guardian to a consent to treat\, for those over the age of 18\, you may sign the consent to treat which provides approval for the Spooner team to complete the evaluation.\n\n\n\n\nWhy we do it: \n\n\n\n\nTo decrease your chance of injury\, understand your current limitations and what you can do to work on them\, and/or improve overall performance.  \n\n\n\nWhile some discoveries may lead us to recommend further evaluation from a physical therapist\, the larger purpose is to provide support to the athlete so they can be successful as possible in their sport and position.  \n\n\n\nWhen people understand their bodies\, they are more equipped to take care of them\, the information from the athlete screen will help you understand your current limitations and give you strategies to improve them. \n\n\n\n\nHow long does it take?  \n\n\n\n\nThe Spooner team will have about 90 minutes to get all athletes through the screen during the Ground Up Event on Saturday January 20th\n\n\n\n\nWho has done it? \n\n\n\n\nThe athlete screen has been done on professional athletes\, collegiate and high school athletes over the past 15 years. The information from the screen has successfully decreased the chance of injury\, improved overall function\, and increased performance\, both for individuals and teams\, for those who have used the information given post screen and added it in to their work outs\, practices\, lifts\, etc.
