You’ll receive 2 Cat A con-ed credits. \n\n\n\n\nHow to fuel for performance\, recovery\, and long-term health\n\n\n\nWhy female athletes face distinct injury risks\n\n\n\nWhat jumping\, landing\, cutting\, and other movement patterns may reveal\n\n\n\nHow the pelvic floor contributes to force transfer\, load management\, and stability\n\n\n\nWhy hormonal changes can influence health and athletic performance\n\n\n\nWhat athletes should know about ACL injury risk\, treatment\, rehabilitation\, and return to sport\n\n\n\nHow athletes\, parents\, coaches\, and medical professionals can work together to support healthier performance\n\n\n\n\nTOPICS & FEATURED SPEAKERS\n\n\n\nUnder Pressure: Rethinking the Pelvic Floor in Sport and Fitness\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBecca Sutton\, PT\, DPT\, OCS\, MSc\, ATCDoctor of Physical Therapy and Clinic DirectorSpooner Rockwall\n\n\n\nThe pelvic floor plays an important role in much more than bladder function. It contributes to force transfer\, load management\, and dynamic stability throughout athletic movement. \n\n\n\nBecca Sutton will explore the relationship between pelvic floor function\, orthopedic care\, and athletic performance. She will also discuss how expected and unexpected hormonal changes can affect the pelvic floor across the lifespan\, along with conditions that disproportionately affect female athletes\, including Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport\, or RED-S. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBeyond the Statistics: Understanding and Reducing ACL Injuries in Female Athletes\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nKushal Patel\, MDBoard-Certified Orthopaedic SurgeonOrthopaedic Specialists of Dallas\n\n\n\nFemale athletes experience ACL injuries at disproportionately high rates—but risk is not determined by one factor alone. \n\n\n\nDr. Patel will explain why these injuries are more common among female athletes\, the roles of anatomy\, biomechanics\, training demands\, and other contributing factors\, and what athletes can do to reduce modifiable risks. He will also discuss what today’s athletes should know about ACL treatment\, rehabilitation\, and returning to sport with confidence. \n\n\n\nDr. Patel is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine and shoulder surgery. His experience includes treating Division I and world-class athletes and helping athletes return to high levels of competition. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBuilt for Her: Assessing and Reducing Injury Risk in the Female Athlete\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nKatie Sloma\, PT\, DPT\, CSCSResearch Physical TherapistMovement Science Lab FriscoScottish Rite for Children\n\n\n\nFemale athletes can demonstrate movement patterns that influence both performance and lower-extremity injury risk. \n\n\n\nKatie Sloma will explain what clinicians evaluate during jumping\, landing\, cutting\, and other athletic tasks. Using examples from sport-specific assessments\, she will show how factors such as quadriceps-dominant movement strategies and dynamic knee valgus can inform individualized exercises and recommendations. \n\n\n\nAthletes and parents will learn how a comprehensive movement assessment can help identify modifiable risk factors and guide strategies for safer\, stronger performance. \n\n\n\nKatie is a former collegiate softball athlete whose clinical and research interests include biomechanics\, injury prevention\, and return-to-play decision-making. She has authored multiple peer-reviewed manuscripts and presented nationally on ACL rehabilitation\, softball outcomes\, and return-to-play assessment. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFueling Her Performance: Nutrition for the Female Athlete\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nKaylie Campbell\, MS\, RDN\, CSSD\, LDSports DietitianCuris Functional Health\, Rockwall and Plano\n\n\n\nTraining harder cannot make up for consistently underfueling. \n\n\n\nKaylie Campbell will discuss the nutritional needs of female athletes\, including important nutrients\, fueling around training and competition\, and how the menstrual cycle may influence nutrition needs. SUMMARY:Introduction to Foot and Ankle Assessment\, Treatment and Semi-Custom Orthotic Prescription
DESCRIPTION:This course will sell out. Claim your spot now.\n\n\n\nThe foot and ankle set the foundation for the entire kinetic chain—yet they’re often under-assessed and under-treated. \n\n\n\nThis hands-on course is designed to help clinicians confidently evaluate\, treat\, and prescribe semi-custom orthotics by understanding foot and ankle biomechanics and alignment. You’ll move beyond theory and into practical application through live assessment\, treatment labs\, and orthotic fabrication. \n\n\n\nTo maximize hands-on time\, participants will complete pre-course learning covering essential anatomy and biomechanics. During the live course\, lectures are concise and immediately reinforced through lab-based application—so you leave ready to implement what you’ve learned the very next clinic day. \n\n\n\nAttending this course will: \n\n\n\n\nDeepen your understanding of how foot and ankle mechanics influence the entire kinetic chain\n\n\n\nImprove your ability to assess and treat common foot and ankle dysfunctions\n\n\n\nBuild confidence in selecting and prescribing semi-custom orthotics\n\n\n\nGain hands-on experience fabricating orthotics you can immediately apply in practice\n\n\n\n\nSo that we can get down to business during the live course\, we will provide pre-course work focused on foot and ankle anatomy and biomechanics. Once we are together\, the lecture will be coupled with hands-on lab sessions to reinforce and demonstrate practical applications of the course content to elevate the quality of your patient care and ensure you can provide effective treatments when you return to patient care on Monday. \n\n\n\nSCROLL DOWN TO REGISTER \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAZ CEU approved6 CEUs Available \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLogistics\n\n\n\nWhen:Friday\, October 30\, 20261:00 PM – 6:30 PMPre-course work will be delivered electronically\, no later than two weeks prior to the course \n\n\n\nCost: $250 (orthotics + materials included)CEUs: 6 approvedCapacity: The class size is limited to 20 participants. After we reach 20 participants\, we will close registration and open a waiting list.Bonus: Semi-custom orthotics fabricated during the course. \n\n\n\nWhere:Spooner Scottsdale9097 E. He works daily with active adults and athletes\, where foot mechanics directly influence knee\, hip\, and low-back outcomes. \n\n\n\nThis course was built from real clinical reps—not theory. Every assessment\, treatment strategy\, and orthotic decision taught in this course reflects what John uses in practice with real patients under real-world time constraints. \n\n\n\nRather than focusing on generic foot posture or static measurements\, the course emphasizes clinical decision-making—helping you understand when the foot is the driver\, what to address\, and how to confidently prescribe orthotics that actually support movement and performance. \n\n\n\nSCROLL DOWN TO REGISTER \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nREGISTER TODAY!\n\n\n\n \n Δ\n \n \n\n 1Contact Info2Payment Info\n \n InstagramThis field is for validation purposes and should be left unchanged.Course Date\n \n October 30\, 2026 | 1:00pm – 6:30pm\n Course Location\n \n Spooner Scottsdale | 9097 E.
