YOUR ROLE AS A COMPLIANCE OFFICER

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Developing expertise in key healthcare compliance and risk management areas, including patient and employee safety, privacy and security, and documentation and billing compliance.
  • Participating in the onboarding of new team members to ensure that all Spooner employees have a sufficient understanding of laws and regulations that impact our business as healthcare providers.
  • Managing legal risk by maintaining insurance portfolios to minimize financial exposure due to professional and general liability, cybercrime, and worker’s compensation cases.
  • Responding to and investigating patient safety incidents to ensure appropriate follow-up from an individual, company, and policy standpoint.
  • Managing scenarios involving legal matters with the Director of Compliance and the executive team.
  • Proactively designing and executing a therapist education program to minimize the risk of future liability issues.
  • Coaching therapists to ensure practice in compliance with the standard of care and billing regulations.
  • Collaborating closely with Revenue Cycle to understand and comply with payer rules and proactively minimize audit risk.
  • Collaborating with Human Resources and Practice Performance to optimize onboarding and employee education.
  • Manage a small team of compliance and technology professionals and develop this team to meet the needs of a rapidly growing organization.
  • Regularly perform clinic assessments and work with clinic directors to ensure an environment that meets regulatory requirements and elevates the clinic team’s understanding of compliance standards.
