The Grounded Athlete course combines a science-based approach to athlete performance with practical application of those principals based on decades of experience working with athletes from youth through professional. The 4-day course will combine didactic learning with hands on practical application and labs designed to provide an opportunity to apply the science of exercise, develop phased programming for all stages of performance, and how to modify exercise based on the athlete’s unique needs. The participants will learn how to create both individual and team training programs.
Upon completion of the program, participants will have the foundations to:
- Integrate established scientific practices with the principles performed at Sports Institute to create comprehensive, specific, and dynamically effective strength and conditioning programs for athletes.
- Identify variables considered for modification of exercise and the common supplemental exercises used to increase program adaptability for the individual athlete
- Review and identify the stressors encountered in sport-specific movement and how to accounting for those stressors in programming.
- Combine the science of exercise with art of coach and cuing to achieve enhanced outcomes with athletes

- preparing athletes for sport
- working to reduce the risk of injury and increase athletic performance, or
- working to return an athlete to sport from injury.
