How Force Plate Testing Works

Our VALD Force Plates contain highly sensitive sensors that measure the intensity, direction, and timing of forces exerted by your body during movement. During your assessment, you’ll complete a series of tests that may include vertical jumps, single-leg jumps, squats, landing assessments, and balance tests.

These tests allow us to evaluate key performance metrics such as:

  • Power production
  • Jump performance
  • Landing mechanics
  • Rate of force development
  • Left-to-right limb symmetry
  • Movement efficiency

Following testing, you’ll meet with a sports performance specialist to review your results, understand how they compare to established benchmarks, and receive personalized recommendations to improve performance, reduce injury risk, or support your return-to-sport goals.
