Runner’s high is real. So is tracking every mile on Strava, carb loading before a big race, and discovering you can go further than you ever thought possible. So when hip or groin pain shows up, most runners assume it’s soreness and keep going. That’s usually where the problem starts.
Hip and groin pain in runners is often a strength and stability issue, not just tightness. The muscles that control your pelvis and inner thigh, your glutes and adductors, work hard every time your foot hits the ground. When they’re not strong enough to handle that load mile after mile, you feel it in your hip, your groin, or both.
The good news is that targeted exercises can make a real difference, and there are options for every level of runner! Watch the video by Spooner Rockwall below for three exercises that build the strength and stability runners need, including progressions so you can start where you are right now!
