About Me:
Maria first joined Spooner Ahwatukee in 2017 as a technician and then enrolled in the first ever hybrid Doctorate of Physical Therapy program at USC. She has now returned in 2022 to Old Town as a physical therapist. Prior to the physical therapy profession, she participated in two Ironman races. Her own experience in training for endurance events lead her to pursue this profession. She has also worked as a triathlete coach to help guide athletes to the finish line.

While in physical therapy school she became interested in supporting women in endurance sports and navigating women in their journey to motherhood. She is excited to come aboard Spooner Old Town to continue this journey as help her patients return to their passions.

Outside the Clinic:
Outside of the clinic, Maria enjoys getting outside (when the weather is cool!), spending time with her dog, Pepper, and fostering rabbits before they are adopted. In her free time, she is training for triathlons and learning how to garden.

Fun Fact: Maria once had an internship as a wildlife rehabilitator. She also worked at the Phoenix Zoo!
