Are you motivated to get further engaged in your local amputee community?

Welcome in the new year with Spooner in setting strategic goals for 2024 in your own neighborhood!

Join us for a free event that will focus on providing amputees of all abilities, with their families, a showcase of opportunities for education, peer support, community events, and mentorship in the West Valley! Be inspired to set goals for the new year and more…

At this event you will have an opportunity to:

  • Gain insight into local events and groups to support family and patients.
  • Meet other patients at varying stages of their limb loss journey.
  • Engage with representatives from local organizations.
  • Discuss the benefits of prosthetic focused physical therapy with the Spooner team.

The Spooner Avondale team is excited to host an event aimed at connecting amputees with social resources that are offered by organizations throughout the valley, with special focus on the West side. There are many resources available but navigating the landscape can be a challenge. We aim to remove those barriers. We will present information regarding local and Phoenix resources for peer support, community events and mentorship specific to amputees. There will also be amputee peers speaking on what variables most contributed to their own positive experience mentally, emotionally, and physically post-amputation. Additionally, Spooner physical therapists Julie Helfer, PT, DPT and Mark McGovern, PTA will be available to discuss the benefits of prosthetic focused physical therapy.
